The Solar On-Grid Hybrid ACDC Air Conditioner is designed for keeping the inside cool all day for next to nothing in energy costs. The power from the solar panels supplies directly to indoor & outdoor fan motor and compressor. When solar power is not sufficient, the system automatically switches to operate from grid power.
The hybrid ACDC solar air conditioners don't require batteries, and only a few PV panels to deliver huge savings. During the day, when air conditioning is needed the most, you can operate this unit up to 100% by the solar panel. At night, you continue to save due to the >SEER 23 rating on this unit. The split air conditioner design allows you to put solar cooling into the area where it's needed the most and avoid the security issues of an unsightly and noisy window unit. How On Grid Hybrid ACDC Technology Works?
Like all DC-Inverter air conditioners, the ACDC HYBRID compressor runs on AC and DC power with the Intelligent Power Management technology. This system can also accept DC power directly from solar panels, without needing an inverter, controller, or batteries. The solar DC power directly replaces an equivalent amount of AC power from the power company and can cut daytime energy costs for air conditioning or heating by up to 80-90%.
During the day, the ACDC-HYBRID can get most of its power from solar resulting in efficiency above SEER 45 when using four >/= 300W solar panels. The unit can be connected with up to three 300W panels. The system is designed for hybrid operation with solar providing most of the energy needed during daylight hours. This air conditioner can be only connected solar panel for off-grid operation running on solar during the day and will automatically switch to the grid when there is not sufficient sunlight.
